Oil City, St. Stephen's Behind a Screen of Trees

I painted this view of St. Stephen's while standing on the main bridge over the Allegheny River. Lots of people stopped to talk, including a man with his pet bald python in his arms.

It's difficult to get a photograph of this painting that shows the sky as being a sort of bleached blue, while keeping the shiny warm light of the sunlight church roof.

This is lovely, I especially like the freshness of those greens and the sense of warmth and daylight that comes through this piece

I love how those trees lead the eye up to the roof! Love it!

I love how you treat your landscape as a pattern of color and values -- the abstract shapes you make your tree and houses and so nicely designed ! -- Yes, designed intelligently instead of just copied from nature. A lesson for me, again.
