Tori

oil on board
8"x8"
Spent two days painting a crab, and then wiped it out. Spent three days on this painting of Tori, and am happy with it. The yellows and greens in the background trees are more intense than I was able to capture in this image, but overall you get the idea. The size is just a bit bigger than what I'm used to, but it made a big difference in the amount of time and detail I was able to give it.

Tori seems to have a gentle, easy-going nature. She's quiet and a good listener. I wonder how much of that comes across here?  She is expecting a child in the fall, and I think she'll be a great mom.

Here is my reference photo, just in case you were curious :)  I think you can see why I always shoot my pictures using the largest file size possible, in case I want to zoom in.

I'm off to an island in Maine for a week, to house sit some dogs and to paint.
