Sunday Museum Visitor (Venus in the Flesh)

I've wanted to paint a photo I took of a nicely rounded woman on a museum visit for a while, but one voice in my head kept saying "It's too strange a subject. Find something more ordinary, more normal to paint."

Another voice kept saying "She so sculptural, like a Venus or Aphodite statue come to life, and back lit beautifully. Paint what you love!" Obviously the second voice has won.

So glad you listened to that second voice!!! This is BEAUTIFUL! Gorgeous handling of light.

I agree with Crystal! Beautiful handling of her clothing, too. Well done!

I agree also! I love the folds in the fabric and the way you captured the light. A great subject...so glad you followed your heart!

So well done. You should submit this to the "fabric" challenge.
