graphite 8.25" x 8"
Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania is a perfect place to find good aerial views. Here I tried to give a sense of the way the town is cradled in a valley, and surrounded with steep hills that are positively choked with trees. Beats me, but the trees were the hardest part, even though I kept them vague.
I used my favorite paper for graphite drawings, called Stonehenge. It is sturdy, has a slightly soft surface, and takes a good beating. I highly recommend it.
