Nesting

oil on linen mounted on board 8"x16"

I like using my still life objects as though they have personalities, with feelings and desires. In this still life, everyone is comfortably nesting, as though they are birds resting after a long flight.

  1. The blues in this painting are phenomenally rich and deep, Taryn. Love it!

  3. I adore your paintings, Taryn.
There are places I go when I need a lift...like my friend's wonderfully creative quilt shop, a local inspired nursery and your blog to name a few.
You handle the paint/ink/graphite so masterfully. 'Three Leeks', 'Girl Looking Down', 'HorseSense', your world portraits and your ambitious bird's-eye-view architecture series are some of my favorites.
I can only imagine the many hours you have devoted to observing and creating.
Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

  7. This is perfect...the yellow balances the blue fantastic. And you nailed the composition. I appreciate the control you put on all the folds which gives great unity. Background is just right, love everything.
Some of the best still life I've seen on the internets.
Boggles my mind you would sell it on dpw...stop that!!!
